In response to our bulletin published on 3 October 2020, the VAU has received over 37 individual responses from affected AP12 members. Each response received by VAU expresses disappointment, frustration and disillusionment with AV’s lack of communication and inability to comply with its own internal processes.

The previous bulletin concerned Ambulance Victoria’s (AV) failure to permanently allocate AP12s to ambulance branches in a timely manner. The bulletin specifically requested that AP12s impacted by the issue come forward and provide VAU with examples. For your reference, the bulletin is available here.

VAU thanks each member for providing this valuable information and notes that the examples provided by AP12s have been used to formalise a complaint to Tony Walker.

By way of update, since formalising the written complaint to AV, discussions have commenced between VAU and AV about how to adequately resolve the issue. No formal resolution has been advanced by AV and the discussions are ongoing.

We will continue to inform you of any developments as they arise and encourage members to contact AV’s Wellbeing Support on 1800 MANNERS (1800 626 377) if required.
