Ambos are forced to work hours of involuntary overtime every day, either because they are ramped at a hospital, or dispatched to a case minutes before the end of shift and sometimes after their rostered finish time. Ambos are dedicated to saving lives, but we DESERVE to have A LIFE TOO.

Today the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission has released the second volume of its review into Ambulance Victoria. The Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated welcomes the release of Volume 2. The Report by VEOHRC has clearly captured the extreme levels of harm and distress caused by incivility, disrespect, discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying and victimisation at AV.

The VAU raised with NPT that there were several situations where AAs have worked alongside AAs and PTOs with less than 400 and 100 hours of clinical practise supervision, and that they have in fact supervised these individuals and competed the appropriate paperwork.

On 20/12/23, AV presented an offer of settlement. It is the view of the VAU bargaining team that the current offer does not come close to creating a workplace that retains its experienced staff.
