The VAU has continued to bargain with Ambulance Victoria (AV) for a new enterprise agreement to replace the Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2020, which expires on 31 January 2024. To date there has been twenty-seven meetings.

In recent meetings the parties have discussed our claims in relation to:

  • Hour count methodology
  • Methods of incentivising weekend and unsociable shifts (while protecting the rolled in rate)
  • Rural Senior Relieving
  • Salary progression when acting in higher duties positions
  • Filling roster vacancies with appropriate classification
  • Improvements to roster notice period and rostering practices
  • CI allowances for Direct and Indirect Supervision.
  • TM and STM claims
  • Incentivising working in remote rural areas
  • Targeted recruitment in rural areas

The Union is expecting AV to finally present their log of claims this week. The VAU will then review the AV log in detail and communicate our views to the membership.

Remember, we are seeking improvements to your wages and conditions of employment which are aimed at retaining our experienced workforce in the job for longer. It will be interesting to see if the AV log of claims recognises the need to urgently address the exodus of experienced staff.    It is the collective strength of our members and preparedness to take industrial action that determines our ability to achieve our desired outcomes. So please make sure you nominate the VAU as your bargaining representative using this link so you can take part in protected industrial action should that need to occur.

In Solidarity.
