VAU Seeking Backpayment for Casual Employees not paid Overtime
The Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated (VAU) would like to inform members that we have been advocating for Ambulance Victoria (AV) to pay casual employees the appropriate overtime rates for all work performed in excess of their rostered finish time.
It is the position of the VAU that casual employees should be paid overtime in accordance with their entitlement in the Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2020 when they work beyond their rostered finish time. Currently AV are not paying overtime rates to casual employees in this circumstance.
The VAU first formally wrote to AV in September 2020 when it became aware that casual employees were not being paid overtime for work performed in excess of their rostered shifts. The VAU has and will continue to demand that casual employees receive the correct payment for their overtime work and be back paid for any outstanding amounts owing.
The VAU hopes to be able to announce a significant back payment for casual members in the near future.
In Solidarity,
