CLAIMING ALLOWANCES WHILE ON RTW
The terms and conditions of the Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2025, apply to all staff. There is no carve out of conditions when you are undertaking a return-to-work (RTW) program after suffering a workplace illness or injury.
A RTW plan may include limits on full shift overtime or other protections. But there is no removal of entitlements.
The VAU has recently been made aware that members have had claims for incidental overtime or spoilt/late meals rejected due to undertaking a RTW.
This may involve:
- Incidental overtime payment for working past the end of your shift
- Interrupted meal allowances
- Late meal allowances
If, while undertaking a return-to-work plan, you have worked incidental overtime, missed meals, or had interrupted meals and not received the relevant payment under the enterprise agreement, please contact the Union.
