Double Loading is still restricted

The Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated (VAU) has recently received several inquiries from members regarding double-loading in the NEPT sector. It has been reported that some companies have been telling staff that they are now allowed to double-load.

Today, the VAU received an answer from Safer Care Victoria (part of DHHS) stating clearly that the restrictions on double-loading have not changed. Double-loading is still NOT permitted. The exceptions which were put in place originally, still apply, but these would only occur on rare occasions.

Please bring this to the attention of your non-member colleagues. If there are incidents where employees are being told to double-load please let the VAU know about it so we can inform DHHS accordingly. It would also be advisable in that situation to inform your HSR in writing and request that they involve Worksafe to remedy the situation.
