News

On Friday evening (1 May 2020), the Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated (VAU) was informed by Ambulance Victoria (AV) that one of our members had tested positive to COVID-19. Five other paramedics who have been in close contact with the member have subsequently been placed in isolation as a precaution.

At this stage it is unknown how the member contracted the virus. AV have advised that the paramedic had not treated or transported any patients who have tested positive to COVID-19.

The VAU has been in contact with the member who is isolating at home. She states she is doing well although feeling under the weather.

I know that I speak on behalf of all members of the VAU in offering them our continued support and wishing the member a quick and safe recovery and return to work.

In Solidarity,
