Following the overwhelming YES vote in the second protected action ballot, the VAU has commenced notifying AV of new protected industrial actions. The following actions have been re-notified and will now apply to all employees who were eligible to vote in either ballot.

If you were only eligible to vote in the second ballot, you can take part in these actions from Wednesday 12 June at 7:00am:

  • Wearing union t-shirts while working.
  • Chalking of vehicles.

Additionally, from Wednesday 12 June at 7:00am, the ban on training employees will extend to the training of all employees and not only new employees. The ban does not include training of GAPs, induction of new QAPs, and training as part of a RTW or RATP program.

All previously notified actions continue to apply for those members who were eligible to vote in the first protected action ballot. Please refer to the bulletin of 4 June if you require further details of these actions.

Employees will undertake stoppages of work to write enterprise bargaining campaign messages on the outside of Ambulance Victoria vehicles.Stoppage of work will be for 5 minutes duration at the commencement of the employee’s shift time.  They will write on clear windows on the vehicle using a removable liquid chalk marker. For clarity, employees will not write over existing stickers or decals.
An indefinite ban on the use of Ambulance Victoria vehicles to perform work unless enterprise bargaining campaign messages are written on the outside of the vehicle.Employees will commence use of vehicles immediately following the stoppage of work by employees to write enterprise bargaining campaign messages on the outside of a vehicle (Action 8).
Employees will not perform work unless wearing union t-shirts. 
A ban on training employees, other than GAPs.The ban does not cover training of GAPs, induction of new QAPs, or training as part of a RTW or RATP program.
