Professional Indemnity

Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) is now a requirement for all paramedics to become registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). All members are provided with free access to the $20 million VAU PII scheme.

To help you respond to AHPRA notifications regarding your professional registration we will provide you with advice and assistance via our experienced internal industrial and legal team. We have also partnered with Gordon Legal, an external law firm which has extensive experience dealing with AHPRA related matters (having represented nurses and other health professionals before the regulator) to provide you with further legal assistance should this be required.

PII provides insurance protection when rendering or failing to render first aid and assistance in an emergency situation or accident to an Insured outside the normal course of their employment, except where such Insured is engaged in a professional capacity by another person or entity.
