The Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated (VAU) is pleased to report that the in-principle Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2024 (AVEA 2024) has been voted up by an overwhelming majority of the AV work force.

Results:

78.9% of eligible employees took part in the ballot.

97.3% voted in favour of the new Agreement.

97.3% is an incredibly strong and united endorsement of the negotiated agreement, at a time when other high-profile agreements have been voted down.

The AVEA 2024 will now go to the Fair Work Commission for approval. A response from FWC will not be likely to occur until February 2025, however members will be back paid to 21 October 2024.

This agreement was the result of years of work and consultation with members, more than twenty months of negotiations, and seven months of industrial action. We congratulate all AV members for their participation in the campaign, especially those who took part in industrial action to bring it home.

We would also like to thank our hard-working Delegates and State Councillors who gave up a lot of their own time to lead the campaign on the ground. Please thank them for their efforts.

There is always more to do for our members outside of bargaining, including improving call-taking and dispatch, reducing ramping, reducing workload and improving morale. This outcome will allow us to focus our full attention on those matters with AV and the Government in 2025.
