At the 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM), Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated (VAU) were required to consider and determine the annual subscriptions for the following financial year.

At its inception in June 2019, the VAU significantly lowered all membership subscriptions from what ambulance workers in Victoria had previously paid and introduced part-time and parental leave membership categories.

Since June 2019, the VAU has not applied any annual increases in line with inflation. We have never made a political donation or paid any money to a political party. All funds raised are put back into growing our organisation and providing services to our members.

However, with increases in utilities, legal fees, and growing staff numbers required to service our membership, it was determined that a small increase in membership fees was justified, which will take effect from 1 January 2022.

The following motion was passed at the 2021 AGM:

Determination of annual subscriptions and setting of fees for the next financial year:

  1. Having regard to the resolution and recommendation of the Committee as circulated, that this annual general meeting RESOLVES in accordance with rule 30(4)(d), to confirm that the amounts of the annual subscription for the financial year commencing on 1 January 2022 will increase by $20/year for all members of the VAU to be payable in accordance with the determination by the Committee under rule 12(1)(b) on a fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis as follows:
  2. Paramedic – $840.00 fulltime, $640.00 part-time and casual;
  3. Ambulance Attendant, Patient Transport Officers, ESTA, Ambulance Communications Employees, Administrative Employees, Fleet Maintenance Officers and Mechanics – $600.00 fulltime, $500.00 part time and casual;
  4. Ambulance Community Officers – $240.00;
  5. Employees on parental leave – $140.00.

Subscription fees for VAU Retirees and VAU students will not be changed.
