The Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated is pleased to announce that the proposed St John Enterprise Agreement (EA) has been voted up by a majority of the workforce. This is the first ever Enterprise Agreement for Patient Transport workers at St. John.

The VAU are very happy that St John members will now have an EA that applies to St John members rather than the “one size fits all” arrangement that applies under the Award.

Results:

  • Eligible to vote: 287
  • Responses: 187
  • Yes response: 156
  • No response: 31
  • 83.4% of votes returned were in favour of the new EA

The majority of employees at St John support the new Enterprise Agreement and have voted accordingly. We congratulate all St John members for their participation in the process, especially those who took part in Industrial Action when it became necessary. It made a significant difference to the conditions included in the new agreement.

We would also like to thank our hard-working delegates who contributed during bargaining and persisted with many meetings until we could reach agreement. Most members may not realise that their delegates put in a lot of time after hours – the EA bargaining is an example of this. Please thank them for their efforts.

We anticipate that the agreement will go to the Fair Work Commission within days and that the agreement should be ratified by the Commission within a few weeks after that.

Congratulations to all St John members for a great result.
