Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated has been collecting suggestions from members for inclusion in our log of claims to bargain for a new EBA. This post is intended to answer some of the common questions that have come up.

The VAU have received 427 emails and 683 suggestions for improvements to the wages and working conditions of AV employees. The VAU is in the process of collating all suggestions into a DRAFT document.

The VAU recently attended a press conference with Premier Daniel Andrews to hear election commitments in relation to matters that the union has been specifically advocating for over recent months. Specifically MICA and NEPT.

The VAU has conducted meetings with members prior to several visits to all SECCs with the CWU and UFU. In these meetings we asked to hear from members about what should be included in their future ESTA Enterprise Agreement.

The VAU has received numerous complaints from MICA Paramedic Trainees about the MICA training program extending over the last several intakes. We are keen to hear of negative experiences from members undertaking the MICA program. Please forward any concerns or examples to the VAU.

Members who have completed all requirements of MFP training and are working as an MFP but are only being paid MFP rates of pay on a higher duties basis should lodge a formal grievance under clause 11 of the Agreement.

The Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated met with representatives from St. John on Tuesday, 18 October 2022, to continue bargaining for an Enterprise Agreement. In the meeting, the VAU received a response from our offer for a classification structure that included 7 years of service.
