The VAU brought a case to the Fair Work Commission for one of our members and successfully argued that MICA paramedics can’t be required to perform alternative duties that don’t involve their principal duties without their agreement.

The VAU will be holding onsite visits to answer any questions. The VAU recommend a YES vote. No vote = no back pay from 3 April 2024. There would then be no agreement and bargaining would continue. Therefore, employees may not receive an increase for at least several months or even for a further year.
